5 favorite drugstore lipsticks

I've never been an expert in lipstick, or beauty products at all really. I usually find something that works for me and stick with it, rarely branching out and trying new things. My sister-in-law, Scarlett, got me a Birchbox subscription two years ago & it was such an awesome gift! It really helped me step outside my boring box & make-up routine, and try some new things. Lipsticks are one of my favorite things to play around with, especially this time of year. There are so many bright, fun colors; I'm especially loving the fuchsia trend right now because it works on pretty much every skin tone. Like anything, the world of lipstick is constantly changing but these are my top five picks that you'll usually find me wearing.
 

best fuschia: Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick,550 "Back To The Fuchsia"

I wore this lipstick in my last "Friyay" post; I really love how bright and bold it is. If you want to make a statement while still keeping it girly, this is your shade!

best nude: Maybelline New York Color Sensational The Buffs Lip Color, "Nude Lust"

I really love this shade of nude because it blends in well with my lips, and has a very natural look. I don't like nudes that are too light as I feel they make my teeth look yellow (no-one wants that!). This is just the right color, not too light or not too dark, and it stays on for hours.

best summer coral: Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom in "Coral Burst"

It took a really long time for me to get on board with coral lipstick; I used to never feel very comfortable in it. Now it's one of my favorite lipsticks for summer, and I think this Maybelline has just the right amount of punch to it. I also love how smoothly all the Color Sensational lipsticks seem to go on; no liner needed which is nice.

best bold red: Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Collection, #10 

Every woman needs a good red lipstick. There are tons out there, but this is my favorite that I've tried. It's not too deep of a shade, but still makes a statement.

best girly pink: Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color in "Pink n Chic"

This is my go-to when I'm feeling girly or have a nice summer tan. When I'm pretty pale in winter months, it tends to wash me out so I stick to this as a summery shade.

 

I'll say again that I am certainly no expert in the field of make-up, and I still have lots of experimenting left to do! :) These are just my favorites at the moment. I do occasionally splurge on YSL & MAC lipstick, but I also like to get 5 drugstore to every 1 luxury lipstick.
