Being from the South, my Mom always stressed the importance of correspondence. Thank you notes are to be written promptly, invitations should be sent out weeks in advance, & birthday cards must arrive on time (although I break this rule quite frequently these days!).
If you're looking for special, beautiful cards, I highly recommend Golden Quill Designs. Michelle, the shop owner, designs her cards entirely by hand. The mix of classic calligraphy with bright, fun watercolor images makes each of her cards something really special to receive. Michelle makes everything from baby to bachelorette cards and also does prints; I'm in love with this one. Michelle is originally a Texas girl, so naturally we clicked right away. :)

It's raining here and Bear's taking a nap; I'm so tempted to go lay down with him and snooze for a bit! We're heading out of town in the morning though, so I better get to packing. It's my 10 year high school reunion and I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm excited!
