houston blogger struggles

Last week, Bear and I met our friends Margret & Sofia at Tiny's No. 5 for brunch before heading to the zoo for the afternoon. It was our first time at Tiny's and I've heard so many amazing things that I've been dying to try it for months. Let's just say that the place beyond exceeded all expectations; it was the most perfect little restaurant with some seriously delicious food. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and bacon, Bear had a hearty grilled cheese with fries, and Margret got a healthy and colorful acai bowl (Bear and I drove too far to settle for "healthy"). Tiny's is about 45 minutes from us, but I'm already planning our next trip down into Houston because I didn't get to try a latte since it was 97 degrees outside and I was sweating bullets in these OTK booties & quilted jacket. Don't worry, I changed into a tank top and flip flops for the zoo.

You may be wondering why on Earth I'd brave such an outfit in nearly 100 degree heat, but my other Houston blogger friends will understand. Our readers live all over the country, many of you residing in places where fall is actually a real season! You can wear sweaters comfortably to the pumpkin patch! You can drink warm apple cider without having a heat stroke! You can bundle up in scarves and chunky cable knit sweaters all through November without sweating off 6 pounds! For all of you lucky people, I want to provide outfit inspiration and give you shoppable links that you can currently use; I'm pretty sure Houstonians are some of the only people in the United States purchasing tank tops and sandals in late October. Most fashion bloggers are consistently a season ahead with their outfits to give their readers plenty of time to shop trends for the upcoming season; here in Houston it's a struggle just to brave the constant heat when it comes to fall & winter style. But, Bear and I love you guys and are so thankful for you that we're willing to sweat for the sake of the blog. Well, actually Bear's not. But I am. :)

So to all of you wearing your suede boots comfortably & soaking up the glorious fall weather, this post is for you! Even if I did have to draw the line at jeans and wear some boyfriend shorts to avoid leg suffocation. I can't thank you enough for reading this little blog and for all of your support- it really does mean the world.
xo, Britt
