If you've been following this blog for very long, you know that I'm a big proponent of color when it comes to my closet. I love me some neon! I also have days when I want to channel my inner goth and wear black from head to toe, and I refuse to limit myself when it comes to fashion. A lot of bloggers have a niche they stay within- there are those that wear nothing but bright bold colors with their eye-catching Instagram accounts, and those that go the minimalistic route embracing nothing but neutrals. I find myself somewhere in the middle and as hard as I try, I just can't stick with one extreme or the other. Fashion is a form of self-expression, after all, and we should embrace our moods when it comes to clothing. Don't be afraid to bust out the bright yellow dress if you're feeling it- chances are you'll get lots of compliments and most of all, you'll feel happy and confident in your choice. And that's what's important!
My Mom snapped these pictures for me when we were home over Christmas break at the Nolan County Courthouse- thanks, Mom! It was such a cold and blustery day, I'm surprised any of the shots actually came out. As much as I love and adore Zach, my Mom has to be my favorite person to shoot with. She's the most patient person on the planet and doesn't get frustrated with all of my crazy requests (i.e. can you move a little to the right? and stand on that box? and try not to get run over?). She also doesn't get embarrassed when people walk by while we're taking photos, unlike Zach, and that's worth a lot right there. There's nothing worse than shooting with a humiliated photographer who would rather hide in the bushes than snap your picture. Yes Z, I'm looking at you. ;) Kidding...I totally get it. But I always tease him that I'm the one who should be embarrassed! At least he has a giant camera to hide behind. I'm just standing there posing like an idiot.
Bear got a Christmas present in the mail today from his cousin Zollie Clayton- Pie Face. He played it with some of his older cousins over Christmas and loved it so much, he was thrilled when it came in the mail today. So thrilled, in fact, that he made Zach make a special stop for whipped cream on the way home from work just so we could play this evening. The catch? Bear cries when he loses this game; he hates the pie in his face! So Zach and I have been losing over and over and I'm pretty sure I've eaten 3,000 calories in whipped cream the past two hours. Actually, that's my favorite part so I don't really mind being a loser if that means I get to drown myself in sugary goodness. Zach addressed the fact that we shouldn't be teaching our son that you win every single time in life, and I guess he's right. It was good while it lasted.
