our favorite Christmas movies

Those of you who know me already know that I am obsessed with the Hallmark Channel- Christmastime or not, if I'm watching TV it's either the Hallmark Channel or Bravo. BUT, from November-January, Bravo takes a backseat to Hallmark Christmas movies as that's all I watch for 3 months straight (just ask Zach- he will tell you...with some stories to go along with it I'm sure). I've even converted my Mom to love HMN during the holiday season (my Dad, Zach, and Bear are still not fans as they made clear to us this weekend). I'm honestly embarrassed at how many of these movies I've seen- my Mom even knows now that if we turn on the Hallmark Channel, chances are I've already seen whatever movie's on. But it never stops me from re-watching! In case you're wanting to catch any good, overly-cheesy/predictable holiday movies on HMN this season, here are some of my very favorites:

1. Crown for Christmas
2. The Christmas Train
3. A Royal Christmas
4. Hitched for the Holidays
5. Let it Snow
6. Window Wonderland
7. The Nine Lives of Christmas
8. A Bride for Christmas

And if you're not into all that Hallmark stuff like the boys in our family, there are still TONS of amazing Christmas movies out there! In fact that's what prompted this post- my parents, Zach, Bear, and I had a Christmas movie marathon last night: How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Elf, Miracle on 34th Street, and ending with the best of all, White Christmas. I tend to be pickier about regular Christmas movies than Hallmark ones since they're more of a commitment if you know what I mean (usually we either have to rent, record, or buy them). But honestly these are my very favorites of all, and definitely Bear's, and we watch the same ones year after year. I grew up with parents who LOVE Christmas and it was a tradition to watch Frosty the Snowman, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Charlie Brown Christmas every single year. It makes me so happy that Bear now loves these classics, too; seeing the magic of Christmas through his eyes is even better than any movie could ever be. Here are some of our family favorites during the holiday season (with some personal favorites thrown in):

1. White Christmas
2. Christmas Vacation
3. Love Actually
4. Holiday Inn
5. Frosty the Snowman
6. The Holiday
7. A Charlie Brown Christmas
8. It's a Wonderful Life
9. The Family Stone
10. Mickey's Christmas Carol

Of course there are tons more that we love and have seen over and over again, like Elf and Home Alone- it's so hard to narrow down this list since Christmas movies really are my favorite ("smiling's my favorite!"). Now that Christmas Eve is exactly one week away, we will be watching even more holiday movies so I'd love to know what some of your favorites are so we can watch them, too! I hope you've all had a fun, festive weekend!
