a modest LBD

We all have our fair share of them: the Little Black Dress. I have approximately 87 and they all hang randomly throughout my closet, just waiting to be thrown on for the next girls' night or dinner date. What Cosmo Magazine fails to tell you, however, is that the ever-so-popular, flirty LBD will only get you so far. What you'll need even more in life? A modest and flattering black dress (MBD, if you will) that will stand the test of time. One that will be your go-to through job interviews, funerals (unfortunately), and any occasion that calls for a step-up from the normal dressy attire. This pleated lace dress from Dainty Jewells is one of the best quality dresses I've ever owned and I know I'll get wear out of it for years to come (plus it's under $100!). I'm loving midi-length dresses and skirts right now and the lace detail on the sleeves is to die for.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter holiday! We had quite the adventuresome weekend, with 16+ hours spent in the car over a 3 day span. Bear was a trooper, per usual, and definitely more patient through it all than his Mommy. We drove back to our hometown of Sweetwater to be with most of our family (some couldn't make it in- we missed you guys!) and Bear had a blast hunting eggs and running wild with his cousins. Zach and I have 6 nephews, no nieces, so it's always really crazy when all the cousins get together. Zach recently did a DNA test through Ancestry and found out that he's 38% Scandinavian, so we laugh that Bear is a little Viking. It's pretty apparent when all the boys are running around like banshees!

Somehow we accumulated 438 pieces of dirty clothing over the weekend so today is consisting of laundry, errands, and catching up on work. Does anyone else feel like they're needing a holiday to recover from the holiday? I say this after every single one but it's always the case! I also need Joanna Gaines to come work on my house and a babysitter to come stay for a few hours or days. Any mamas out there feel me?
Hope you're recovering from the weekend (better than me) and having a great week so far!
xo, Britt
