a change of heel heart

DRESS | EARRINGS | SUNNIES | SHOES | BAG

When I was a teenager, I paraded around the halls of my high school in short dresses and sky high heels. I can't tell you the amount of times I got sent to the office for my skirts being too short- too many times to count, for sure. And my poor Mom was an English teacher there and while that didn't seem to help my case at all, I'm sure it was a little embarrassing for her. Sometime after college, probably closer to motherhood, I realized that dresses don't have to require a high heel. In fact, sometimes it's actually better to opt for a low heel or flat, especially if the dress is pretty short or considered more casual. I fell in love with this Farm Rio dress and knew it had to go with these Dillards sandals that are so comfy and perfect for summer. If only I had known this tip in high school, I might have had one less trip home to change my outfit (not that I minded leaving school for a little bit OR getting to have a mid-day outfit change).

Speaking of my Mom, my parents just got in last night for a few days and we are so excited they're here! Bear especially hasn't stopped talking all morning (that's really nothing new though). Today we are headed to Wet 'n Wild- my parents have never been and yet they have their minds set on getting season tickets. I guess we've convinced them that they're gonna love it that much- I hope it doesn't disappoint! And if that means they're planning on coming to visit a lot this summer, we're all for it. We also eat at Gringo's for dinner one night every time they're here, as we're definitely a Tex Mex loving family. With the exception of Zach- he gets a cheeseburger every time. He's loco en la cabeza...give me all the queso and enchiladas, please.

Tomorrow I have not one but TWO big photoshoots which means preparing 13 outfits! Trying to decide handbags, jewelry, shoes, and of course steaming everything is quite the task. You should see my sitting room floor right now- it's a disaster area. My Mom mentioned something about it to Bear and he goes, "Yeah, Mommy ordered too much stuff off Amazon". Why do kids speak so much funny truth?
