our christmas kitchen

I’ve had this post drafted for several weeks now and am finally getting around to sharing it with y’all! I wanted to reeeeally go all out on holiday decor this year, especially in our kitchen, but opted to go with subtle touches instead. Since we’re still buying new pieces for the house, it makes more sense to wait until after Christmas and grab a bunch of holiday decor on major sale for next year when we can really deck the halls!

I’m honestly really enjoying the minimal touches of greenery and pops of red, even though I’ve added a few things since taking these photos. And no, our kitchen is not normally this clean! The island is normally a resting place for backpacks, water bottles, and toys. At least we have photos to prove it was clean for a few hours :). Sharing details on everything below!

I can’t really link anything because most everything in our kitchen came from Home Goods, Burlington, or is old. But I’ll tell y’all sources just in case you want to go out and hunt! I’ve also found similar items so you can order if you’d like.
Our bar stools are from Target a few months ago but are sold out, really similar ones HERE.
The wreath and greenery on the back of the chairs both came from Michael’s. The wreath was $5 and didn’t have flocking, but we bought a few cans of flocking spray at Walmart to spruce (pun intended!) it up. Similar wreath HERE.
The greenery on the chairs are 50% off at Michael’s right now making them $3.50 apiece. I thought that was a pretty good deal considering they come with the ribbon. I just used a piece of clear Scotch tape to tape them to each chair and it worked- they’ve held up for weeks and you can’t see the tape.
Our “Letters to Santa” cookie jar has been a huge hit. It is under $10 at Walmart right now but only in store (THIS one is also really cute). They had so many in store that I wanted, and now I’m regretting not getting! My favorite was a red truck with a tree in the bed (that would match the rest of our decor) but I’m glad we went with this one instead because Bear thinks it’s a real magic cookie jar that transports letters to Santa. He puts a letter in it almost every day and his elf, Johnny, delivered a special letter from Santa back to Bear.
The tray by the pantry is a $6 ROSS find and we love it- it houses all of Bear’s homework and notes from school. THIS one is pretty much identical.
Our Candy Cane Lane is another $6 ROSS find along with the jute rug under it, and the tea towel with trucks is from there as well (THIS one is similar).
The galvanized 3 tiered stand is from Hobby Lobby- it’s normally $30 but every other week goes on sale for $15. I love using it to decorate for each season, and it’s great for parties as well. THIS one is a bit of a splurge but also really pretty!

Think I covered everything but if you have any questions, I’m happy to answer them in the comments! I get questions about our floors quite a bit and they are tile made to look like wood. The light grey color is easy to keep clean and we have loved them so far. Thanks for stopping by!
