holiday gift guide with ROSC
You guys! Christmas is only 6 days away! How can it be?! Surely I’m not the only one who’s just about halfway done with my shopping? It’s a good thing most of our Christmas parties and programs are stacked today so we can spend the weekend running around town doing all our last minute holiday shopping.
At this point, I’m a little weary with shipping and I’d rather ensure I’ll have gifts to give in time for Christmas. What I love so much about River Oaks Shopping Center is that there are never massive crowds to fight like a normal shopping mall- you don’t even have to pay for parking. I would advise arriving pretty early on both Saturday and Sunday if you plan to do shopping this weekend as it does get busier as the day goes on. I did some shopping there last Friday (the half I do have done!) and when I arrived at 11am, parking was a breeze. When I left around 2pm, the hustle and bustle had definitely picked up. A trip to River Oaks Shopping Center never feels stressful. It’s always an enjoyable experience that I can truly soak up and feel like I’m out of the busy city for a bit.

While the boys were in school last week, I wanted to grab a few things on my list and enjoy some me-time at River Oaks Shopping Center. My first stop was Ann Taylor to get a few things for my Mom, shortly followed by a Starbucks pick-me-up. Have you had their bacon egg bites? You haven’t tasted heaven until you’ve tried them. While I was in there, I grabbed some Holiday Blend Coffee and gift cards for Bear’s music/art/technology teachers. An easy but tasty gift!
I always have to stop in J.Jill when I’m at River Oaks Shopping Center and I ended up picking up a floppy hat for myself. Oops. Anyone else have that problem while Christmas shopping? I felt a little guilty so I ran in TGF Salon and got some Tea Tree Shaping Cream (his fav). Under $20 and makes a great stocking stuffer. I wanted to give Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille gift cards to a few friends, so I grabbed a few that I know will be used and appreciated. I’m probably most excited about the last gift I picked up, which was tickets for our family to River Oaks Theatre. We’ve wanted to start doing more “experience gifts” and I want to make memories with the boys that last much longer than any toy. I can’t wait to go back after Christmas!
River Oaks Shopping Center created a holiday gift guide that’s honestly the best and most useful I’ve seen this season. Check it out here! It’s broken down by category, so it’s super easy to use and you can pull it up on your phone while you’re doing your shopping the next few days. I love that it lists price and details on each item, and there are lots of ideas I never would’ve thought of on my own.
I hope this helps you as you wrap up (pun intended) all your holiday shopping this season! And don’t forget to slow down and remember all the simple joys this time of year brings.
xo, Britt
