our winter tablescape

Happy Friday, friends! I took these pictures 2 weeks ago today and am finally getting around to sharing them. I’ll explain more below, but it was my first time putting together a Christmas/holiday tablescape and I wanted something simple yet elegant. Also you may spy a little paw that likes the gold flatware :). Don’t worry, all the forks and knives were removed after these photos. Sorry, Boonester.
I shot a few photos during the daytime but decided to take most of them at night. There’s just something magical about candlelight during the holidays; I love it and can’t wait to host our friends around this table!

Most of our home, as you have seen, is decorated in more of a “casual Christmas” style. It’s honestly difficult to find decor that isn’t considered “farmhouse”, but I know that trend won’t be around forever and I wanted at least one corner of our home to feel a little more refined. The dining area seemed like the perfect spot since we rarely use this space; we always eat at the bar except when we host friends or family. Everything on the table was super affordable, from the votives found at ROSS to the Christmas tree tea lights from Home Goods. We also have mostly all silver touches around our house for Christmas, so it was fun to incorporate some sparkly gold.

Who else is ready for the weekend?! It’s going to be a busy one for us with a Christmas party tonight and a bachelorette party in Fredericksburg over the weekend. But I’m so exited! This time of the year is the best.
