boone: eleven months
How is it possible that this baby is turning 1 year old in 2 1/2 weeks? I cannot wrap my head around it, nor do I want to do so. It feels like just yesterday he was in my tummy, kicking like the Karate Kid. But I’ll save the sappiness for a 1 year recap (y’all know I will really be laying it on heavy then) and for now, update you on Boone’s 11 month happenings.
Things to remember:
-Boone now has 5 teeth, and they have not been his friend. Teething was a breeze with Bear; we never even knew he was getting a new tooth until it was there. With Boonester, it’s been quite the opposite experience. His teeth has showed under his gums for over a week each time before popping through, keeping him up almost all night during those dreadful times. I thought teething was just some myth but I now realize the pain so many other babies (and parents) have had to go through. It’s no joke! Hoping the rest of his teeth are a little nicer on our boy.
-Biggest news of all….Boone took his first steps this month! At 11 months and 2 days, Boone Thomas decided to walk. Not clear across the living room or anything, but 3-4 “baby steps”. He still does it every day but he prefers to crawl and isn’t a full on walker yet. He can obviously do it, but he’s in no rush to be a certified walker.
-Boone is in size 4 diapers and 18 month clothes.
-His hair looks red in these pictures, but it’s actually very light blonde. Bear’s was the same way and didn’t turn dark until after his second birthday. It will be interesting to see if Boone’s does the same!
-Boone is still not a great sleeper, waking up 3ish times a night and going back to sleep. However, it should be noted that he had his longest stretch of sleep ever last week, sleeping from 8:30pm-6am straight (then ate and went back to sleep until 8:45am). I know, that’s not a big deal for an 11 month old but for our light sleeper, this was huge. I felt like a new woman for about 13 hours. Now back to mombie state.
-Another cold hit our baby boy this month, hence why he looks a little sick in these pictures. It was nothing more than a runny nose, cough, and congestion, but I still hate seeing him sick. Luckily it didn’t last too long and he’s back to feeling like himself again.
-Boone loves playing with toys, and seems to have really good hand-eye coordination. He especially loves pushing around little cars and trucks.
We love this baby boy so very much and it’s such a joy to watch him grow. The first birthday planning has finally commenced and I can’t wait to share it with you all soon!
