The weather in Houston has been glorious lately- chilly mornings that require a light sweater and mild afternoons capping around 75 degrees. I LOVE the weather this time of year but it can be a bit challenging in the clothing department. I don’t like wearing a lot of layers and having to shed them throughout the day (can’t tell you have many jackets we’ve lost from this process), so I’m all about the current kimono trend for spring and summer. Adds some fun color/print to your outfit, a little provided warmth for chilly mornings or a cold restaurant, all while being stylish and comfortable. The best part? This kimono is only $16!

I found it in store at Walmart and sadly isn’t available online, but it’s Time and Tru brand which is one of my current favorites from Walmart. They have so many cute things, like this mesh kimono I have in my cart right now. I’m all about embracing one’s body and shape, because every woman is beautiful in her own skin. That said, kimonos are super flattering on all body types because they give the illusion of slimmer legs with how they fall (especially mid length ones that hit above/around the knee). I also like that they add a little modesty to an outfit if I’m not comfortable going to Bear’s school or somewhere wearing only a camisole.

Have you jumped on the kimono train yet? This is the first season I’ve really started wearing them regularly and I’m convinced there’s no going back.
Boonester and I have a busy day ahead…just another manic Monday :). So excited for all the Easter festivities and fun to come!
