boone: twelve months

It can’t be that our monthly updates have already come to a close- it feels like I was just typing up month one. I will still occasionally do a Boone update and share some milestones he’s had, but not monthly like we’ve done the past year. I highly recommend Studio Noel if you are searching for cute monthly photo props- Brittni is the best and can work with you on a specific design if you’d like. She’s working on a smash cake topper for Boone’s first birthday party now and it’s going to be so sweet- can’t wait to share all his party details with y’all!

Things to remember:
-Boone is officially a walker. He started walking right at 11 months, and could walk across a room if he wanted, but still mostly preferred to crawl. As of a couple weeks ago he decided crawling is for the birds (or bugs) and hasn’t looked back. His little walk is so funny and cute- we all get a kick out of him toddling around everywhere.
-Teething is still no fun for our boy. Bear never had any issues teething but Boonester’s teeth have been pretty mean. He’s currently cutting a tooth on top and has 6 teeth total. Hoping the rest decide to come in soon so he doesn’t have to be in any more teething pain.
-Boone will eat pretty much anything and this month discovered his love for scrambled eggs. I sprinkle in a little cheese and he loves them, especially paired with a side of blueberries and avocado.
-Pink eye hit our house hard a few weeks ago starting with Bear, then Boone, then me. Thankfully we are all better (knock on wood it doesn’t come back) and Boone had it worst of all. His left eye was almost swollen shut at one point and it broke our hearts, even though he stayed happy through it all. His lasted about a week and we took him to the doctor/started him on antibiotics drops right away which helped. Bear’s teacher sent a note home saying it was going around in their class- oh the joys of kindergarten.
-At a year old, Boone still doesn’t sleep through the night. We co-sleep which has a lot to do with it, as well as his teething, but he is usually up 2-3 times a night to nurse and goes right back to sleep. Still hoping he will decide he wants to be a sleeper soon!
-Just as of yesterday, Boone started saying “hiiiii” and waving. Cannot stop asking him to do it because it melts me.
-At his 1 year check-up, Boone was in the 90th percentile for both height and weight. Our big boy!
-Boone is still our little meddler who’s into everything he can get his hands on (as I type this he’s reaching over and trying to push keys on the laptop). Nothing is safe from the Boonester’s grasp and he keeps us on our toes.

If you missed it, I shared a sappier post on his birthday here and will be sharing a birthday party recap soon (his party is this Sunday, the 10th). We are so excited to celebrate Boone with friends and family! I have a feeling Boone won’t care that much but Bear is excited to see his cousins :). 40ish guests is going to make for a full house and some chaos but it will be such a special and bittersweet day. Thank you all for keeping up with Boonester for his first year- I wish he could wave and say “hiiiiii” to each of you!
