drugstore beauty favs
It seems like every January/February, we’re all looking to buy new makeup and have a fresh look for the start of a new year. I’m the kind of person who loves to try new products, so you’ll find my makeup bag full of both high end designer products, as well as under $5 products from Walmart. I personally love reading/hearing why other people love certain products, so I wanted to share some affordable options with you guys that I love!

Why I love them:
Jergens Natural Glow Instant Sun:
I’ve only been using this product for 3-4 weeks but I’m already completely sold on it. I’ve used way more expensive self tanners that didn’t work as well as this one. I’ve always liked the Jergens tanning lotion but the foam is a total game changer. Exfoliate before, use a mitt, and you’ll have a glow that lasts at least a week.
Flower Beauty Eyeshadow Palette:
This palette is SO good, y’all. Each shade is really pigmented and has just the right mix of shimmers and matte shadows. It’s comparable to the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette IMO, and in some ways even better for a fraction of the price.
SGX NYC Dry Texture Spray:
If you wanna up your hair game, this little $6.99 bottle needs to be in your cart. It adds great volume, so I’ll spray it at my roots after I curl my hair for some extra oomph up top. It also works like a dry shampoo, so it’s a 2-for-1 between hair washes and doesn’t leave white residue like some dry shampoos.
NYX Microbrow Pencil:
I’ve been using this brow pencil on my eyebrows for awhile now and I feel like it’s better than the expensive Anastasia Dip Pomade I was using before. The NYX Microwbrow Pencil fills in bare spots so well that blend and look natural. Highly recommend!
L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara:
Very comparable to this mascara but less than half the price, Lash Paradise makes my lashes seem longer and thicker than any other mascara I’ve tried. I also love that one coat gives the same affect as two or three coats of other brands, so it saves some time getting ready.
Milani Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Eyeliner:
I’ve love been a big fan of Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner but I recently started using this $7 dupe (thank you Amazon Prime 2 day shipping) and it does just as well. A total Kat Von D dupe that also has a small felt tip for easy use. Only catch is the Milani liquid liner doesn’t have a shaker, so sometimes I have to hold it upside down between eye application.
Maybelline FIT ME! Concealer:
This product is not new to me, in fact I discovered it about 4 years ago when I was in my hometown and realized I forgot my Dior concealer. I ran to Walmart and messaged my friend Megan Owen, a beauty guru, something like “PLEASE tell me a decent concealer I can buy at Walmart. I’m here for a week without my Dior!”. She told me to buy Maybelline FIT ME! Concealer- that she found it to be just as good as any designer concealer. And you know what? She was right. I buy the “fair” shade and it lasts all day.
Maybelline FIT ME! Matte & Poreless Foundation:
Yes, the FIT ME! products are that good that they made the list twice. This is an amazing every day foundation that has full coverage yet is light and stays put all day. I’ve also been buying it for years and wear “natural beige”.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream:
I have really dry skin a lot of the year and struggled to find a lotion or cream that would keep the skin on my legs from cracking. This stuff does the trick and leaves my skin feeling so soft and hydrated. I’ve been using it for over a year and won’t go a day without it!
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Makeup Primer:
I first tried this primer about a year ago and fell in love with it for several reasons. A-My makeup goes on so much smoother. B- The primer tone-corrects and covers imperfections. C- It has SPF in the formula so I don’t have to apply sunscreen to my face on normal days. It’s honestly just a really great product that helps your skin get a good glow and feels amazing applying.
NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray:
I first tried this setting spray almost 4 years ago after attending a NYX event at New York Fashion Week. I was blown away by how well it compared to the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, and have used this instead ever since.
Do you have any tried & true beauty favs? Drugstore or high-end? I’m always down to hear what I should try next!
