my home office

Hi, friends! To be honest, I’ve debated posting this space for about a year and a half now. It isn’t technically finished, and there’s a story there. Years ago, my grandparents owned an antique settee and two matching chairs that I loved (mostly for their gorgeous pink fabric). We ended up getting the pieces, and they are now in my office. However, they’re not in the best condition and the bottoms are falling out of two of them. We’ve had several lofty estimates ($1500+) but the main reason I haven’t made a move on fixing them is because every upholsterer I’ve asked has told me the pieces cannot keep the original fabric. I know we could find something similar, I just keep holding out hope that maybe the original fabric can be saved. Long story, just wanted to explain this backstory a little to y’all!

This room was intended to be a dining room, so it had a large modern/silver light fixture that we just replaced last week. I know the antique chair doesn’t work very well as a desk chair since it’s so low; I also plan to get a new desk chair soon. Again, just sharing this space because it’s almost finished but I’m not sure when it will actually be complete (if ever, with how often I change my mind). I’ll stop rambling now and just show you already!

rug, settee, and chairs were my grandparents

You guys got a little dose of real life in there with my boss digging in my Walmart sacks. There’s also a clothing rack in one corner not photographed because it looks like the racks at ROSS on a Saturday.
As I said above, this rug was given to us by my grandparents as well since it was in the same sitting room as the pink furniture. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but personally I love it and it reminds me of fond childhood memories. With a house full of boys, I’ll take any pops of pink I can get.

Hope you guys are making it through this week okay. Praying for your health, safety, and families during this difficult time.
xo, Britt
