summer tablescape with MacKenzie-Childs

Summer is officially here and I can’t believe it. Maybe it’s because we’ve spent the last few months at home, but 2020 has flown by thus far. Do you feel the same?
One of my favorite spots to decorate in our house is our dining table. We really didn’t have any summer pieces for it, so I started fresh and fell in love with MacKenzie-Childs Royal Check Collection. It’s the perfect mix of their classic Courtly Check pattern, but in a gorgeous blue hue that I plan to use every spring and summer for years to come. That’s what I love about MacKenzie-Childs pieces; the quality is unmatched. The boys gave me this Courtly Check tea kettle for Mother’s Day and I hope to pass these pieces down to my granddaughters one day.
I wanted to keep our summer tablescape somewhat simple, yet classic. I went with neutral Sweetbriar chargers, plates, and bowls that we can use year round and change out serving dishes and centerpieces. Speaking of centerpieces, the Royal Check Architect’s ones, you’ll see below are real boxwood. I’m surprised how easy they’ve been to care for and really make a statement. All the MacKenzie-Childs pieces are even more beautiful in person, and Sunday brunch with my boys has definitely gotten an upgrade.

If you don’t know the history of MacKenzie-Childs, I urge you to read about it here. Each and every piece is hand-crafted, therefore no two pieces are identical. I hope one day to visit the MacKenzie-Childs farm in Aurora, New York, where all the magic happens. And for now I’ll just keep asking my boys to collect their pieces every chance I get :).
