Summer Table-scape+Dinner Party Ideas with MacKenzie-Childs
I can’t believe summer is almost here! It seems like just yesterday I was pulling out the Halloween decor. I was really excited to do our summer table this year and invited my friend Kylee over to help me get everything set up (she’s amazing at all things home). It makes me happy to see our dining table set for each season, and I love using MacKenzie-Childs pieces that are classic, timeless, and whimsical. Anytime we have guests over, our Mackenzie Childs pieces are the first thing they notice and comment on. For that reason, I can’t stop collecting and displaying MC in our home. I hope one day I can pass it down to my daughters-in-law and that they’ll appreciate and love it just as much as I do.
Back in March, I had the honor of participating in #MCTakesHouston, a virtual event hosted by MacKenzie-Childs. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the most fun, fabulous, all around best Zoom event I’ve ever been apart of. Local influencers and I got to hear from the CEO who was so nice and down to earth, as well as directors and members of the MacKenzie-Childs team. Every single one of them was so warm and personable, it made me love the brand even more. To see how much work goes into every single MacKenzie-Childs piece, and how much love goes into the brand as a whole just gave me an all new respect for the company. I’m finding so much inspiration from how the other girls who attended the event are incorporating MacKenzie-Childs into their homes, like my friend Shay. She’s inspired me to branch out with my MC pieces to other rooms of our home and think more outside the box when it comes to decorating.

Now that we’re starting to safely gather with friends and family, I thought it would be fun to share some summer dinner party ideas.
5 Summer Dinner Party Ideas:
Around the World -Host an ‘Around The World’ Dinner Party where each guest is assigned a different country. Guests wear garb from that country, bring food from that country, and share some fun facts. So much fun and educational, too.
Taste of Italy -Keeping with the worldly themes, wow your friends with an Italian Themed Dinner Party, complete with a full bruschetta bar. You could serve a plethora of different pasta dishes or even make your own Italian pizzas as a group.
Backyard BBQ -Keep it casual with delicious food and friends on the patio. Nothing says summertime quite like hot dogs off the grill, corn on the cob, and fresh watermelon slices.
Summer Citrus -Cue all the lemons, grapefruit, oranges, and limes. I found inspo from HERE and am now dying to host my friends for this chic and tasty soirée. Even the menu could be themed with things like lemon pepper chicken, sparkling citrus sangria, and key lime pie. This gives me all the table-scape ideas, as I feel like MacKenzie-Childs Courtly Check pieces were made to be paired with lemons.
Vineyard Vibes -Think wine tasting, all the charcuterie boards, and gorgeous Martha’s vineyard-inspired florals. MacKenzie-Childs Royal Check would be perfect for the occasion with it’s bright, bold, blue and white pattern inspired by the beautiful Cayuga Lake.
I hope this has given you some ideas for your summer table and your next gathering, whenever it may be. If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that every day is reason to celebrate.
