over the knee

dress | sunnies | boots | earrings | bag

I'm willing to confess that I avoided over-the-knee boots for quite some time before finally giving in and buying not one but two pair. While I love how they look on everyone else, I feared I'd resemble more of the Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman type, if you catch my drift. Turns out, I was wrong. In fact, OTK boots have the opposite effect. I can wear a shorter dress and with tall boots, show less skin. OTK boots are also great for chilly weather because you can layer them over jeans and tights and they provide more leg warmth. That's always a struggle of mine when it's cold out- I can layer a ton up top with shirts, sweaters, and coats...but I look like the Michelin Man if I start wearing multiple pants on bottom. And no-one wants to see that.

I am getting so excited for next week when I'll head to Scottsdale, Arizona for the Pinners Conference! I only just now realized (literally, just now as I uploaded that link) that there will be a live stream going so any of you not in Arizona who want to watch definitely can! So basically I'm talking to you, Mom. :) I'll be speaking about how to find your signature style and the 12 closet staples that everyone should own. OH and Francesca's has been amazing and given me lots of goodies to hand out to the first 30 people to arrive. I promise you wanna get there early!

Other than meeting some of you (which I'm beyond excited about), I can't wait to shop and take other classes from some of my very favorite bloggers. I attended a conference where Kristyn of Lil' Luna spoke earlier this year and she is such a gem; I can't wait to take her class on balancing motherhood. When I saw that Cara Brook of Maskcara is teaching a class, that pretty much sold me on the trip to Phoenix (my speaking obligation aside). I'm obsessed and will definitely be fangirling her all weekend. That's not weird, right?

If you aren't familiar with the Pinners Conference & Expo, here's a video that sums it up better than I ever could. It's definitely worth the 5 minutes of your time to watch! If any of you are planning on coming and haven't reached out to me already, please send me an email at thehellohoneyblog@gmail.com so we can connect! And I'll make sure you get some Francesca's pretties. :)

Thank you for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with a yummy fall recipe!
