Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

I found this recipe here on my friend Katy's blog, Twenty Three Oh One, and knew it needed to be made in our kitchen. If you haven't checked out her blog, you definitely should. She has so many great projects and I'm obsessed with her baby boy's nursery; it's actually Z and I's main inspiration for Tiny's room. Anyway, enough babbling, on to the yummy recipe!

You'll need:
3 or 4 ripe bananas, smashed (I used 3)
1/3 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

6 tablespoons chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. With a wooden spoon, mix butter and mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir in. Add the flour last, mix. Sprinkle 4-5 tablespoons chocolate chips into the batter. Pour mixture into a buttered 4"x8" loaf pan. Top with the remaining tablespoon of chocolate chips. Bake 45 minutes-1 hour.

I hope you'll try this one out; Zach doesn't even like banana bread but he loved this recipe. It's moist, chocolatey, and heavenly when served warm with a glass of milk. Think I'll go have another slice right now! Happy baking, friends!
