5 mommy & son dates

There's nothing I love more than spending time with both of my boys. But because Zach works a 9-5, it's just Bear and me during the week. We're in a playgroup that we love but we're also always trying to visit new places and do fun things with just the two of us. He won't date his Mommy forever, right? I'm taking advantage while I can. :)

Some of our favorite things to do together are:
1. Visit the Fire Station - There's a fire station really close to our house and I love taking Bear to see the big red trucks. They're always so nice to let us in and even let Bear climb inside and "drive" a truck. He loves it and I love seeing his face light up!
2. Go on a Hike - We discovered a nature preserve a few miles from our house and it's the perfect spot for an afternoon hike. We can get a little exercise and enjoy the beautiful fall weather. If you don't live close to a preserve, there are always parks and other areas to explore.
3. Movie Night (or afternoon) at Home - Grab the popcorn, build a tent, and pick a special movie to watch together!
4. Picnic - This happens to be Bear's favorite; he loves our picnics. Make your favorite sandwiches, head to a pretty spot (in the shade!), and enjoy your lunch. Bear loves places with ponds so he can toss leftover bread to the ducks.
5. Get Cookin' - Everyone loves a man who can cook, might as well get him started now! Let him pick the recipe, head to the store for ingredients, and cook together. We are just starting to do this one more and Bear really enjoys "helping Mommy".

Speaking of outings, we just got home from the zoo and this Mommy is worn out! Bear's napping and I just might join him. If you live in the Houston area, Zoo Boo is worth the trip. We have a great time every year and always get a nice long nap out of it. :)

Happy Weekend!

p.s. I'm linking outfit details below; Bear's shirt is from Old Navy and shorts are Janie & Jack, both recent purchases but not available online.
p.p.s. The bright yellow towel pictured is Bear's Darth Vader "cape". He doesn't like to leave home without it!
