2015 favorites

HAPPY 2016!!!
I know I said I wanted to look forward and not back as we begin a new year, but because I'm such a sap I wanna reflect just a little bit on 2015 by listing some of my very favorites from the past 12 months. But first, let's talk fashion. :)

My sister-in-law, Scarlett, gave me this J.Crew dress for Christmas and I was basically all the heart eyes forever when I opened it. Also it's currently on sale! It's such a classic piece that you'll wear time and time again; I see myself wearing it everywhere from church to brunch with the girls. My coat is from Old Navy and get ready for this...I've been wearing it every year since my freshman year of high school. I still remember the day my Nana bought it for me! Ahhh, to be young again. So yeah, it's 15 years old and still going strong. But I linked several coats below that are really similar & I'm thinking I need an upgrade. I'd say for $35, Nana got her money's worth.

Bear's joggers are from Old Navy (on sale here) and I'm going to order him several more in different colors & patterns. They're really soft and perfect for a busy toddler. His shoes are also from Old Navy and I couldn't find them online but I'm pretty sure they're still in stores. We love Old Navy shoes for little ones because they're nice and wide (Bear has some seriously wide feet!) and well-made for the price.

Okay, now let's talk the best of 2015! And I would absolutely love to hear some of your favorites in the comments, too!

Favorite Book: My brother and sis-in-law gave me The Girl on the Train for Christmas and I read it in two days; I couldn't put it down. Definitely recommend it!

Favorite Movie: Sad to say I didn't see a lot of movies in 2015 (wait do Hallmark Christmas movies count?), but I think Jurassic World was the most entertaining. Plus Zach and I had a date night which also included Tex Mex and Marble Slab, so it was a fun night all around.

Favorite Song: This is a tough one! I thought 2015 was better than other recent years as far as the music scene goes. My most played was On my Mind by Ellie Goulding.

Favorite Store: My most shopped at would have to be trusty Nordstrom. Although for Bear, it's Baby GAP. Always Baby GAP.

Favorite Trend: I really love that the 70's made a big comeback last year. Flared pants, suede everything, and lots of fringe made fashion very interesting and fun.

Favorite Beauty Item: I know I've said it 87 times and it's getting annoying but I can't help it, I'm just seriously obsessed with this Dior Lip Maximizer. It makes my lips feel incredible and I can notice a difference in my lip fullness after using the product. Look out Kylie Jenner! Just kidding. I wish.

Favorite Shoe: Definitely these Steve Madden slip-on sneakers. Comfy and cute, the best combo.

Favorite TV Show: All the Real Housewives aside (I should be embarrassed to admit that but I'm not), Zach and I crack up at Fresh Off the Boat. Go watch it! Runner Up: Silicon Valley.

Favorite Family Moment: On our trip to Mississippi in March, we went on a safari at the Global Wildlife Center. Seeing Bear's face light up when the animals would bend their necks into our jeep was priceless.

The list could go on and on but I'll stop it there; I can't wait to see what great things 2016 holds!
