2016 spring trends

I was lucky enough to go to New York Fashion Week last September and get a peek of this spring's biggest styles. While runway clothing is often "watered down" for department stores, major designers still play a huge roll in the fashion choices we make every day. Some spring trends are not exactly worth jumping on the bandwagon for, but some will give you all the heart eyes. Here are the trends that caught my eye!
Romantic, Victorian dresses. These floor length, floral gowns were all over the runways. Expect to see lots of lace maxis with feminine details, paired with dainty flats.
Pleats, please. You're going to see a lot of these this year, as designers are adding structure and flirtation to the fabric.
That's a wrap. Wrap dresses never go out of style (thanks DVF!) but they're going to be bigger than ever this spring. The bolder the fabric pattern and color, the better.
Lingerie by day. Not really my favorite spring style, but it's one you're sure to notice. These slinky silhouettes are made for going out on the town.
Leather & suede. Two of the biggest textures you'll see, especially in skirts.
Cold shoulders. Open, off-the-shoulder necklines have had their moment, but this season, designers took the look a step further with cutouts meant to highlight just the shoulder.
