Madison Reed

Y'all know I love a good beauty product. And while I've never colored my hair, I was still excited to try some products from Madison Reed to see how they would work on my (often unruly) hair. I was sent the Root Touch Up in Terra, a Brow Definition Brush, Tame Frizz Control (Lord knows I needed this), and sample size shampoo and conditioner.

You may be wondering what a gal who's never colored her hair could need with root touch up. And don't you dare speculate that I'm going gray already! That day will come sooner rather than later, I'm sure, but for now I use the root touch up on my eyebrows. Cool, huh? Madison Reed matched me to the correct shade for my brows and I use the brow brush to fill in where it's needed. I love this stuff. It's probably my favorite product out of all they sent. It stays on all day and blends really well into my natural brows.

Silly me, I didn't even know such a thing as root touch up powder existed. So if you do color your hair, this would be an awesome way to stretch a few more weeks in between coloring.

The shampoo and conditioner made my hair feel so silky and soft; I always wash my hair before bed and woke up with it more manageable than usual. I have super thick hair and it's naturally wavy, so I'm always looking for shampoos soften my hair and make it smell yummy. That's important, y'all! This one passes the test.

The Tame Frizz Control is a serious game-changer. Because of my natural waves mixed with the Houston humidity of death, my hair likes to achieve the finger-in-a-light-socket look. It's a constant battle, but one that I seem to be winning since using this frizz control product. I apply it twice a day, using two pumps and then running my fingers through my hair from root to tip. The instructions say only to use one pump, but my mane requires a little more.

I've tried tons of similar products, many containing argon oil, but I can honestly say that this one works best on my hair. Products containing argon oil make my hair feel greasy and damp, even though they do smell delicious. This Tame Frizz Control has a light, sweet scent and goes on really well. It doesn't feel heavy or greasy, it just tames all those crazy fly-aways.

I want to stress to you guys that I do not review products on this blog unless I absolutely love them. It's vital to me that I give an honest review, in case you ever decide to try the products, as well. I wouldn't tell you to put root touch up in your eyebrows just for the fun of it. Or maybe I would....but in this case, it's legit. Promise.

Also, if you're wondering where the long lashes suddenly came from, I have extensions. I can't believe I waited so long to get them because they are amazing; I don't even wear mascara anymore. If you're in Houston, my girl Angela of Olive Beauty will come to you! I took a two hour nap on the couch while she put on my lashes. Her pricing is the best I've seen, too. If you'd like her info, just send me an email at thehellohoneyblog.com or find her on Instagram/Twitter @olivebeautyla. I'm so excited to get a fill because I can't wait to take another nap.

Bear is in Mother's Day Out today and this Mother is gonna go shopping. For once it's not for clothes; we desperately need a new area rug. Homegoods is the first stop; there's a good chance I will come out of there with a basket load of randomness and no rug. Happens every time.
Hope you're having a great week!
