the dress for summer

There's no denying it: I love dresses. And tassels. And the current off-the-shoulder trend. So naturally I had to have this dress from Francesca's that incorporates all three elements! There's something about spring and summer that makes me want to live in dresses; they're so comfortable and easy to style, plus they're not sweat-traps like a thick pair of jeans.

I've been gravitating towards really bright, neon colors lately but navy is such a classic hue that doesn't get enough credit. It looks great on everyone and makes the perfect backdrop for those neon accessories that I love. This would also be the perfect 4th of July dress with some fun red earrings or shoes!

Bear and I met some friends at Old MacDonald's Farm in Humble today, which is basically a giant petting zoo with playgrounds, train rides, and Frito Pie. Between some pesky goats eating a hole in my pants and one of Bear's precious girl friends falling off a horse (not a pony but a horse), it was an adventure-filled day. We really did have fun; the weather was perfect and the place wasn't crowded as usual. Luckily we all left in one piece and Bear is already asking to go back. I vote it's Daddy's turn next time....E I E I NO.

I'm so excited to be hosting a baby shower at our house Friday morning and can't wait to show you how it all comes together! The sweet mama we're celebrating deserves the best!
