the comeback of the skort

This vest/skort set is a recent purchase from Dillard's (GB brand) but isn't available online. Linking some of my favorite sets below!

I would be lying if I pretended to be a complete stranger to the skort; our college golf uniforms definitely included several lovely knee-length skorts that were worn on the course and nowhere else. Aside from those, I haven't touched a skort since probably the fifth grade. Somewhere along the way they lost their appeal and I preferred either shorts, or a skirt. Why have a two-for-one when it isn't necessary? Well, now that I'm a momma of a toddler, it's kind of necessary. If I want to wear a skirt that comes above the knee much at all, it better have some built in shorts or innocent bystanders are gonna get a show. Call me old-fashioned, say I'm living in the past, but I'm a hardcore skort advocate these days. Maybe I'm just cheap and now understand the benefits of a two-for-one.

As a Mom, I do try to keep my clothing somewhat modest. The general rule is that if you're showing a lot of leg, you shouldn't be showing anything up top. And the same goes for the opposite. Pick your best feature and flaunt it, girl! Just so long as it's tasteful. My rule? WWMT. That's What Would Mamaw Think (my grandmother). If she would be mortified then I promptly change my clothes. Unless it's a bachelorette party; then I just say a prayer thanking God that she doesn't have Facebook. Nana, my other grandmother, has bought me some hoochie clothes in the past. I'm talking hot pink knee high lace-up boots with fur, leopard print mini skirts, and six inch stilettos. I loved it all but my Dad, not so much (I wore it anyway).
