burlington summer style

For as long as I can remember, I've loved shopping at Burlington. I still remember my first trip to Burlington; my family was in Dallas picking up my big brother from the airport, and I was just a freshman in high school. We had some time to kill, so we ran in the store and looked around. I was shocked to find that the place had much more than just coats, in fact coats were an afterthought compared to the racks of bright, summery dresses and rows of designer handbags organized by color. I bought a new dress and a blue beaded necklace that day that I would continue to wear for the next eight years through college. And that was the first of many Burlington trips for this shopaholic on a budget- I had found the holy grail.

When I met Zach, he was a shy (but sexy) businessman with surprisingly stellar work attire. Imagine my shock when he first told me he did all of his shopping at Burlington. I thought he had been frequenting the ranks of Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman, and here he had been sporting $30 slacks and 2 for $10 ties. What surprised me even more was that despite the low prices of these items, he was still wearing top brands that you'd typically find in a department store. As if I didn't love Burlington enough already, I knew in that moment that Zach was the one... I would love to go shopping with.

To this day, I frequent Burlington at least once a month. I stock up on clothes and shoes for Bear, work attire for Zach, and pretty much all the things for myself. I especially love the jewelry; lately I've been scoring the cutest tassel earrings for $5 and less.  Last year I scored this exact pair of Steve Madden sneakers for $8, and the black & white shirt pictured above was on sale for just $7. The handbag & heels pictured were both under $40. The white fur bag charm was $4 and has a mirror attached so it works as a mini compact on top of being adorable. I can't remember my own cell phone number that I've had for 12 years but I can remember the price I paid for a pair of stilettos back in 2006. Not super useful, but still. It's a gift.

The next time you pass a Burlington and think it's just a skiers paradise, I encourage you to reconsider and take a look inside. I promise that you'll be amazed at the quality, selection, and incredible prices this store has to offer. From beautiful home goods to diaper bags and maternity clothing, Burlington has it all. And I think I've convinced myself to make a trip this afternoon.

Happy shopping!
xo, Britt
