A few weeks ago, I found this two piece outfit on Amazon for $9.99 and knew I had to have it. I fell in love with the color combo and wanted one last fun summer outfit before trading the crop tops for knit sweaters. For the price, even one or two wears would be totally worth it. I read the reviews (like I always do before ordering clothing off Amazon) and several people said it ran a little big, but nothing too out of the ordinary. I ordered a small, as it only comes in S, M, and L.

Fastforward a few days to this package arriving and me ripping into it. I held up the crop top in horror; I knew immediately it was way too big. The skirt was even worse. These were not smalls, they were closer to XXL. I have no idea how they size clothing in China but it's apparently very different from the U.S. I still loved the outfit and wanted to keep it, especially since I couldn't swap it for a smaller size. So I did what any fashion-obsessed girl would do and took it to the alterations shop. After standing around getting pinned and poked for twenty minutes, the lady quoted me $42 for alterations. On my $9.99 outfit. Because I'm no quitter (and too lazy to find a more reasonable seamstress), I gave in and paid for the alterations.

The material of this garment is pretty thin and it isn't very well-made. I've had really good luck with Amazon clothing purchases in the past, but this was a definite fail. Thank goodness for talented (expensive) seamstresses and a photographer who could make a potato sack look amazing.

We spent the day at Stewart Beach in Galveston and Bear had the time of his life. He is such a little beach bum! We built sandcastles, hunted crabs, collected seashells, and jumped in the waves for hours. My little bro kept holding Bear by the wrists and spinning him around until they would both get dizzy and fall into the water. Bear thought it was the best thing ever, kinda like he thinks Uncle Ryan is the best thing ever. It makes my momma/sister heart so happy to see them having fun together. We never want Uncle Ryan to leave!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
