On our last day in the Big Apple, Shelbi, Dede, Riane, and I woke up bright and early to shoot some outfit photos before heading to Baublebar's headquarters for a meeting. We were immediately whisked back into the showroom, which is something out of a magazine. From the gorgeous pink couch to the floor to ceiling walls of jewels, the Baublebar showroom is a jewelry lover's dream. We got to pick several pieces to take home with us; I chose these soft pink tassel earrings and this gorgeous choker.
From Baublebar, we took an Uber to the Irina Vitjaz fashion show. The entire collection was stunning; I especially loved how billowy & whimsical most of the dresses were and her play on the choker & deep-V neckline trend. I'm a sucker for pastels so the soft pinks and purples caught my eye (my closet needs to catch them, as well).
After the show, we caught yet another Uber and headed for the Verdad presentation. This was our first presentation of the trip, so we were excited to get a closer look at the designs and really soak them all in. I loved the designer's take on the "new denim" and his mix of casual and "dressy" fabrics.
Shelbi and I were pretty hungry (borderline hangry) at this point so we walked what felt like miles to get our second fix of Shake Shack. This time I went all out, ordering a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a coffee milkshake. I'm having serious withdrawals just typing that; it was that good.
We were pretty rushed but managed to clean our plates before heading to the Leanne Marshall show at Skylight Clarkson Square. If you aren't familiar with this designer, she's from Portland, Oregon and won Season 5 of Project Runway. Prior to the trip, I was most excited to attend this show and it did not disappoint. The entire collection was inspired by crystals and their healing energy; it featured crop tops and romantic, flowy dresses in light-colored, breezy fabrics. Shelbi and I ended up sitting front row and were in pretty good company. Other front rowers included "Teen Wolf" star Arden Cho, "Real Housewives of Dallas" stars Cary Deuber & Stephanie Hollman, Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui, Justin Bieber's protege singer Madison Beer, WWE wrestler Summer Rae, "The Americans" star Holly Taylor, and Miss New York 2016 Nicole Kulovany. Pretty cool, guys, pretty cool.
After the show, Shelbi & I rushed over to the Charming Charlie headquarters for a meeting with their PR team. I've worked with Charmie Charlie for months now and it was amazing to finally put faces with email addresses! The girls were all so sweet and we loved seeing (and of course doing some shopping in) the fabulous "mother store".
Pressed for time (a serious theme of this trip), we hurried back to the hotel to grab our luggage and head to Newark. Shelbi and I were so exhausted but still couldn't resist talking about all of our adventures rather than sleeping on the plane; it really was the trip of a lifetime. I feel like I'll say that after every NYFW but as a lover of all things fashion from basically birth, it really is a dream come true. Carrie Bradshaw said it best in one of my favorite SATC episodes: "Every year the women of New York leave behind the past and look forward to the future... this is known as New York Fashion Week".
