spring fling

I know, I know- the 80's called and they want their ruffled blouse back. I was born in the 80's so maybe that's why I've always had a major crush on ruffles- the bigger the better. To be honest, I feel like a frilled-neck lizard wearing this shirt and Zach especially gets a good laugh when I sport ruffles this extreme. Jokes aside, this shirt is one of my favorites for spring and just $20; blue and white stripes are also huge right now and I can't get enough. The weather has been rainy in Houston for the past two days and is supposed to continue that way all this week, so I'm itching for springy sunshine!

For those of you who read my last post, Bear's first tball game was a success! The rain tried to get in the way, but luckily the Giants (Bear's team) were able to get their game in and they did really well. By "really well" I mean they were hilariously cute, and Bear pretty much forgot everything he'd learned in practice the past two weeks. But that's to be expected of four year olds, right? He came home saying how much fun he had so in my mind, that's all that matters. We did end up having to miss Bear's sweet friend Sofia's first birthday party because of the all day baseball festivities which we were disappointed about- we just need more hours in the weekend! I'm sure you can all relate. :)

Bear has also been big into dancing lately and always wants Zach and I to play music so we can cut a rug. Tonight, Bear and I had a dance party in the office for a solid hour and his little cheeks were so red, I thought he might pass out. But he kept going and going like a little energizer bunny and I struggled to keep up with his stellar booty-shaking moves. He giggled like crazy and after the 9th replay of "Uptown Funk", I had to bow out and let Zach have a turn. I never want to forget these times- the pure innocence of our little boy who would rather spend time with Mommy and Daddy than anything in the world completely melts my heart. Every once in a while when we're out and happen to see a water fountain, I give Bear a coin to toss in and make a wish. He doesn't quite get the "if you keep it a secret, it will come true" deal yet, so he always spills the beans to me after tossing. The last few times, he's had the same wish: "I wish Mommy and Daddy could stay home with me forever". Oh my sweet little boy, I'd give anything for that to come true.
