easy mom style

jacket | jeans | similar sneakers | top | sunglasses

A lot of times I share outfits on this blog that are fun and great for special events like showers and parties, but not always practical for every day life. As a mom of two little boys, I need clothes that are practical and can withstand lots of running and chasing. I still want to look cute in the process, and it’s taken me awhile to find my go-to “momiform”, if you will. But finally, I feel like I’ve somewhat figured it out.

For every mom, this means something different. Maybe you hate jeans and your momiform is a casual knee-length t-shirt dress, flats, and a denim jacket. Maybe you prefer leggings, a long cardigan, and booties. I think we can all agree as moms that a tote bag is a must! I recently ordered this tote insert off of Amazon and it’s been a game-changer; not only does it fit my Neverfull but I use it inside every tote I carry and it makes my life so much more organized (not to mention makes switching purses a breeze and keeps the inside of bags clean).

These days, I find myself living in stretchy, high-waisted jeans, slip-on sneakers, a comfy tee, and some form of jacket if it’s cold out. And of course some over-sized sunglasses to hide the dark bags under my eyes that are most definitely always there (but not always covered with four layers of concealer). This look takes me from day to night with the change of shoes, and it’s put together enough to go from working at home to brunch with friends. I love mixing prints like stripes and floral for a fun take on an otherwise pretty basic look. But it works, and my Dad always taught me “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it”. Good advice, Pops!

Moms (at any stage in the game), what is your “momiform"? I’d love to hear!
