spring break ready
Spring break is always an exciting time around our house and I’m so happy it’s here! Growing up with two teachers for parents, we relished spring break and the time we all had together as a family. Zach still works most of spring break, but he usually takes a few days off for us to go to the rodeo and visit with extended family that comes to stay with us during the break. Between the rodeo, lunch plans with friends, and a vacation, it’s sure to be a busy but exciting week!
After cleaning out my closet in January (thank you, Marie Kondo), I needed a few new items to freshen up my spring wardrobe. Y’all know by now that River Oaks Shopping Center is my favorite place to visit when I want to find the best deals in the best atmosphere. I headed to ROSC last week to grab some things and was not disappointed!
My first stop was Ann Taylor because I haven’t been there in awhile and wanted to see their spring selections. I found lots of fun polka dots, neutrals, and great basics that will last me for years to come. The sales associates were so kind and helpful, I felt right at home and not at all pressured to buy anything. That’s one thing I love about River Oaks Shopping Center- everyone is so friendly and it’s a different environment than a regular shopping mall. It feels more personal, yet more laid-back if that makes sense. I enjoy shopping so much better this way (but y’all know I do always enjoy it).
My second stop was White House Black Market and I fell in love with so many of the bold prints, especially on denim. There was tons of pink, which is my favorite color, so I had to grab a few tops and a pair of jeans. I’ll try and remember to do an Instagram try-on soon of all my River Oaks Shopping Center spring finds!
My last two stops were J.McLaughlin and C'est Chic by Carmine, where I picked up a fun hat, some sandals, and another top that I plan on wearing to the rodeo Thursday. It’s so convenient that I can find everything I need in one stop at ROSC, without having to pay for parking or worry about crowds. Usually I stop in Gap Kids to pick up some new clothes for the boys, but they are pretty set on things for spring. I’m sure in a month or two I’ll get the itch to buy them summer clothes and swimsuits, so I’ll find myself back at River Oaks Shopping Center.
I am so excited and honored to be partnering with River Oaks Shopping Center again this year to share my finds and experiences at the Center with y’all. It’s a place near and dear to my heart and one of the first places I ever visited in Houston. If you’re local, chances are you appreciate ROSC just as much as I do. And if you’re not from around here, you have to visit the Center should you ever find yourself in Houston. There are lots of new and exciting additions I can’t wait to share, like the opening of Perry’s Steakhouse and Run On by JackRabbit. I can’t wait to try them out soon and see even more of what River Oaks Shopping Center has to offer.
