It was an epic weekend indeed! The weather in Texas has been absolutely nuts the past week, so we swapped our weekend get-away-plans for staying home and getting some projects done. It ended up being a wise decision because San Antonio (our almost get-away) has had severe flooding the past several days. It was also nice to have a little staycation & get things done around the house. Also, shopping. There was lots of shopping. :)

I've never been huge into blazers, mostly because it's usually so hot in Texas that added layers are uncomfortable. But I'm starting to love how they can dress up an outfit from day to evening wear, & a pattern like stripes adds interest to a simple outfit. Plus you can never go wrong with black and white!

After visiting Pearl Harbor last February, I see Memorial Day in a different light. Yes, we shop the sales and eat the BBQ and hang by the pool. But we must also not forget why we can enjoy those freedoms, and all those who sacrificed their lives in honor of our country. So proud to be an American, today and every day.
