I thought it'd be fun to do a little Q&A today! I always enjoy reading them on other blogs. Hopefully you won't find the answers too terribly random. ;)

1. What did you do before being a SAHM?
My major in college was communication. After college, I decided to get my teaching certification for EC-6 grade. I was a nanny for several years, then right after finishing my certification Zach and I found out we were expecting Bear. So now I'm teaching him!

2. Do you enjoy outdoor activities? If so, what are they?
I played golf in college, so I really love getting out my clubs any chance I get. It doesn't happen often with a toddler! I also really enjoy camping, hiking, and just walks in general. Not running. Never running.

3. How did you become interested in fashion?
For as long as I can remember, I always found outfit planning really fun. When I was younger, I'd plan out my outfit every night for school the next day; I loved trying things on and putting together jewelry, shoes, etc. Our family traveled a lot in the summer and shopped in different states, so I learned to really look for good deals and try and stretch my "vacation money". I have always loved shopping!

4. Do you have any insecurities? If so, what are they?
Several! One is my smile. Sometimes I see a picture where I'm naturally smiling really big and my smile looks so "gummy". Zach always laughs at me when I talk about my gummy smile. I'm also self-conscious about my knees; they're really bony. They always have been, and look weird at certain angles.

5. What's your favorite part about being a mom?
Honestly, I love listening to Bear talk. He repeats everything, and I love hearing this little vocabulary grow. He says the funniest things that crack us up. Every part about motherhood is rewarding (and often challenging), but this talking phase is my favorite so far. He's such a sponge and it's a big responsibility to try and teach him well.

6. What's your go-to outfit?
It depends on where I'm going, but if it's just a normal day of play dates or the park then I'll usually throw on boyfriend shorts, a graphic tank, and Salt Water sandals. I also carry my vegan leather tote from Nordstrom almost daily. It's such a great carry-all, especially for moms on the go.

7. What are some of your hobbies?
I really enjoy reading, writing, crafting, and running our Etsy shop, Logs 'n Lace. And of course shopping!

8. What is your exercise routine?
Honestly, I don't have one. I pretty much despise working out. I walk 20-45 minutes 5 days a week, in the evenings, mostly to give myself a break and get some fresh air. That's the time I call my grandma and/or Mom, so it's nothing too vigorous.

9. Where is your favorite place you've traveled?
Zach and I went to Italy on our honeymoon and it was incredible. We started in Rome, then Florence, and ended in Venice. Venice was our favorite city of the three; but all of them were amazing in their own special way. We loved it & hope to go back someday.

10. What is the best piece of advice you've been given?
I feel like I've been given a lot of really great and useful advice, but there's one thing that's really stuck with me. When my older brother left for West Point, I was about to enter my freshman year of high school. He left me the sweetest note, and in it there was a line that read simply "don't worry too much about what other people think". This, for me, is really important to remember. It's so easy in the age of social media to compare ourselves to others and feel inadequate or like we're not doing as great at this or that as we should be. But at the end of the day, it's only we ourselves that can judge whether or not we're truly happy. And that's what matters.

Hope you've had a great weekend!
