the classic cape
Every once in awhile, I find a piece of clothing that is so exceptionally well-made and functional that I wear it for years (talking 10+!). I can already guarantee that this cape from SAMIMAY is going to be one of those rare pieces. If you're looking to invest in a quality cape that will last a lifetime and never go out of style, SAMIMAY is the way to go.

I'm wearing the Black Shawl Cape and it can be worn countless ways; I love styling it to match different outfits (video tutorial here). I also love that it comes with a detachable belt, so I can leave it open like a true cape or belt it like a coat. When belted, it's very flattering and warm; you'll want to keep one handy for all those freezing cold restaurants. Please tell me I'm not the only one that dresses like she's in the arctic when going out to eat? It could be July in Houston and you can bet that if you see me in Chili's (pun intended), I'll be bundled. There might even be earmuffs.
Aside from their beautiful clothing, I am extremely impressed with SAMIMAY's Capes That Care Campaign. Periodically, SM chooses a charity that inspires greatness, and picks a person who promotes this greatness through her drive and compassion. In the month following the campaign, SM donates 50% of online sales to that person's charity or cause.
Next month will bring the launch of SAMIMAY's newest campaign that will be dedicated to building awareness about autism, as April is National Autism Awareness Month. This is a cause that's very dear to my family's hearts, as Bear has several friends who have already been diagnosed with autism. The more attention we can bring to this disorder, the more help and understanding Bear's precious friends will receive. His friends aren't the only ones we can aid; there are over 3 million individuals in the U.S. alone with autism. That's a surprisingly big number that we can work together to support, in April and all year long.
Bear has asked me 63 times in a row to cut a watermelon for him, so duty calls. As long as he's not asking for Cheetos or "red candy" (aka Twizzlers), we consider it a healthy snack.
Hope you had a great weekend!
xo, Britt
