summer home essential

Every little Bear loves a good chocolate ice cream cone in the summertime, but every Mommy (or at least this one) does not love the mess it inevitably creates. Bear has all kinds of fun, wild-printed shorts that require a a solid white shirt to match. Other moms look at me like I'm crazy, especially since my child is notorious for rolling in the mud, but I have a little secret. That secret is Persil 2 in 1 Liquid Laundry Detergent

Persil is hands down the best detergent I've ever used, and we've had a time finding a quality detergent for our family. Bear and Zach both have sensitive skin, so Bear's pediatrician suggested All. When we got new white bedding after Christmas, the All wasn't cutting it anymore. We switched to Persil ProClean and haven't looked back; the boys' skin hasn't responded a bit and our clothes & linens smell heavenly.

The proof is in the pudding, so here's a look at Bear's ice cream shirt before and after a wash. I didn't treat it at all, except for a few blots with a napkin at the restaurant. When we got home I threw it in the wash (with 5-6 other clothing items- not all white) and washed the cycle on cold. The result is pretty shocking, especially considering the chocolate had been setting for several hours.

Zach's Mom and my parents both work for the school system, so they visit frequently in the summer. Whether we're washing guest towels, sheets, or any of Bear's muddy clothing, we turn to Target for Persil ProClean. This detergent is only available at certain Target locations but can be purchased online here. Any excuse to shop Target online and I'm in.

Some of our other summer home essentials include never-ending popsicles, strong suncreen, and this portable speaker that happens to be on sale. Great jams are a must while hanging out in the driveway all afternoon! Bear loves to pee in the grass right when our neighbors walk by; no wonder they don't ever wave to us.

I would love to hear what some of your summer home essentials are! Do you have a favorite sunscreen? Insect repellent? Please spill!
xo, Britt
