Last week, Bear and I had our playgroup friends over for a fun little flamingo fling. The idea stemmed from one afternoon back in April when I strolled in Dollar Tree for a birthday card and walked out with four bags full of random flamingo decor. I couldn't resist the bright pink birds, so we planned a party and asked our friends to come over in, of course, pink. They went above and beyond as you can tell; it was the cutest bunch of flamingos ever. Excuse me, I mean flock of flamingos. You know what they say: birds of a feather play together. Notice I didn't say "share" together, because my son was not having it that day. Definitely had his feathers ruffled.

If you watch Southern Charm on Bravo, you saw the flamingo party that Patricia hosted at her home. I promise I didn't copy Patricia, though I wish I would have. Her party was much more fabulous.

We served mostly fruit and sent our guests home with white chocolate covered marshmallows (with pink sprinkles). Pink lemonade was the drink of choice and we found pink pudding cups (strawberry banana flavor) at HEB that were great for the kids. I love a good themed party and any excuse to plaster pink everywhere. Minus Bear's moodiness and an unfortunate photo booth mishap, I think everyone had a fun time. Thank you to all our sweet friends who came and played!

Zach's family was here visiting this weekend and we saw Mama Mia at Galveston's original Opera House yesterday; it was absolutely amazing. I had only seen, and loved, the movie with Meryl Streep and the musical was even better. I'll be singing "Dancing Queen" for the next three weeks straight, no doubt. Zach and Bear went also, and Z keeps singing "Take a Chance on Me" which is cracking me up. He has a great stage voice and some killer moves, too. Pretty sure Bear thinks we're nuts...and he's only three. I dread the teenage years.

Hope you've had a fabulous weekend!
