shrimp tales

I'm having a black and red moment, you guys, I know. Leopard, too. The new Style Watch x Charming Charlie collection isn't helping my addiction since I pretty much love everything in the line. Several of the pieces have already sold out online (like the bag I'm carrying here), but I have my eye on several of these cute Braided Hinge Bracelets that are on sale for $6.

I wore this outfit to a rewardStyle event several weeks ago and I was a total redneck amongst the city-slickers. The restaurant was pretty fancy and the waiters brought out trays of interesting looking appetizers right when we got there. The only thing I recognized was fried shrimp, so I popped a couple in my mouth while mingling with the other bloggers. I thought the shrimp tasted extra crunchy and not very good, but I kept eating them (note to self: always grab Whataburger on the way to upscale events). It wasn't until a little bit later when I observed several other girls daintily taking bites of shrimp and disposing of the tails on little saucers that I realized my faux pas. Yup, I had been eating the tails. Classy. In my backwoods defense, they had covered the entire thing in batter before frying so you couldn't see the tail. Still, embarrassing.

Bear starts back to MDO tomorrow and I'm wavering back & forth between having a Julie Andrews Sound of Music singing in the hills moment and sobbing while downing all the Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey. The struggle is real, you guys. I'm so happy for some Momma time but I'm also going to really miss my little man during his short time away. I already have a lunch date planned with girlfriends tomorrow so....it may be more of a Julie Andrews kind of day. :)
If you get a chance, say a prayer for little Bear who is dreading his first day back. Fingers crossed he makes friends and doesn't poop his pants.
xo, Britt
