NYFW day two

Day two was probably my favorite day of the trip. We woke up early to get ready and headed to Skylight Clarkson Square for the Dan Liu fashion show. I was so excited when I got to my seat because I was on the second row right where the models come out. A few minutes before the show started, a lady came up to me and told me to move up to the first row because there was an empty seat. So of course I jumped my giddy self up to the front row and pretended it was my seat all along (just down from Miss New York and right across from Kelli Berglund). The show was really beautiful and the dresses were inspired by spring in Paris. The pieces weren't my favorite of this year's shows but the environment and presentation as a whole was the best of anything we attended.

After Dan Liu, we hopped in an Uber (preferred these to cabs because of the easy splitting) and headed to the Shopstyle event. I had no idea what to expect as you hear tons of things about the rewardStyle party but I hadn't heard anything about Shopstyle's event. You guys, it was amazing. The party was so fabulous that it had to be split onto two floors, and we hit up the 14th floor first. Right when we walked in, we were hit up by servers carrying rose and the most fancy hors d'oeuvres I've ever seen (outside of the movies). Baublebar had such a fun set up going but we made a beeline straight for the Gigi New York station where they were giving us each a monogramed bag of our choice. I chose the Catie Crossbody in slate because I need a gray bag (using the word need loosely there) and fell in love with the embossed python leather. There were hair and makeup stations and I had my makeup done by the sweetest girl; wish I could remember her name and company! I was too busy soaking in the gorgeous views out of the floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the Hudson River.

Hallmark had a station where we could pick any cards we wanted to take home (so many cute ones!) and they also had a giant glass mailbox for us to place any cards we wanted to send back home. I'm a big snail mail person, so I loved this. We then ventured up to the 22nd floor where the real party started. There were racks and racks of designer clothing, Sam Edelman shoes for gifting (I left with these), and the most gorgeous views of the city from an outside lounge. We clearly could have stayed there all day. Oh and I almost forgot! As we were pulling up to the event, we spotted Christine Andrew of Hello Fashion shooting with her photographer outside. We had yet another starstruck moment, snapped some pictures, and rode the elevator up with her. She was the sweetest ever. She's my very favorite blogger so that was really a dream come true meeting her in person. She probably thought we were crazy the way we were yelling at her from our Uber car with the windows down.....no shame in our fangirl game.

After the Shopstyle party, we made a mad dash to the hotel to change and headed to the Namilia fashion show. If you saw some interesting pictures I posted on Snapchat (like bare bums and possessed looking models), it was from this show. Kelly Osbourne was there, if that tells you anything. We were pretty freaked out and couldn't get out of there fast enough. When one model turned the corner to expose her bare behind, I accidentally said "OH MY GOD" so loud that people were turning around to look at me. I'm not sad we went because it was definitely an experience to remember (not that we could forget if we tried).

After Namilia, we headed back to the hotel to change and take some pictures at the rooftop bar. I'll have those up soon; the view was spectacular and overlooked the entire city. We then changed yet again (#4 outfit of the day) and decided to skip out on the blogger meet-up we had planned to attend. Shelbi, Margret, and I caught an Uber to Central Park instead and had the most perfect evening exploring and people watching (so.much.Pokemon.). We went into the downstairs area of the Plaza Hotel which is full of restaurants, shops, and the cutest Eloise store that's a little girls' heaven. We walked to dinner at Fig & Olive, then walked a few blocks to Serendipity 3 for dessert. I'm obsessed with the movie Serendipity and have wanted to go there forever; I'm so glad the girls let me fulfill that little dream. We got a twist on the frozen hot chocolate, a frozen mochaccino, and it was delicious.

With full bellies and countless blisters on our feet, we caught an Uber back to the hotel and crashed; well, everyone but me. I was so hyped up from the day that I couldn't sleep (despite how exhausted my body was). I loved every moment of that day and couldn't quit reliving it all in my mind. New York City definitely stole my heart that day, if it hadn't already.

xo, Britt

p.s. When we were snapping these photos in Central Park, a rude New Yorker lady stopped to ask what we were doing. When Shelbi told her we were bloggers and explained that my dress was a gift from Elaine Turner, the lady goes, "Well I hate to tell her but she forgot to iron it". Yeah yeah lady, I know. When you're on your fourth outfit of the day and have walked at least ten miles in heels, the last thing you wanna do is turn on the steamer yet again. Regardless of the wrinkles, this dress is a favorite of mine from Elaine's new fall collection. I have the wallet in this python print as well and love it, too!
