A few weeks ago, my photographer friend Yash and I hit up River Oaks Shopping Center to shoot fall content, have lunch, and of course SHOP (post on it here)! It got me so ready for fall and all the fun it comes with- pumpkin patches, hay rides, tasty breads & desserts, tailgating, all the yummy candles, and of course the fashion! Give me all the cozy sweaters, OTK boots, and sweater dresses, please. In Houston, however, our “fall” weather isn’t quite conducive to the trends mentioned above and while we do get a few days that these clothing items make sense, most of the time they just don’t. So I have to get creative when putting together fall looks and I happen to love and accept the challenge.

There are so many great trends for the season, and a few of my favorites are:
1. Leopard print- Okay, this is a favorite of mine regardless of season! I’ve been a huge fan of leopard print for years (I’m sure you’ve noticed) but it’s bigger and better than ever right now and I can’t get enough. My favorite way to incorporate the bold print is through small touches and pattern play- like the leopard print mules I’m wearing above or pairing a leopard print cardigan over a striped dress (also great option for fall in the South).
2. Camo- Another trend I can’t get enough of and have been wearing on the reg. Camo is everywhere but I prefer it in more muted tones, especially shades of grey. If you only get one camo piece for fall, make it a utility vest! So cute, versatile, and also great for layering. I have & love this one that’s under $30.
3. Bralettes- Don’t worry, Mom, my blog isn’t getting all racy on you. Actually, I love bralettes because they cover more and allow me to wear lower-cut pieces than I normally would while showing less skin. They add such a pretty, feminine detail while still doing their undergarment job! Jess Lea Boutique has great ones that come in both ivory and black.
4. Hunter green- No surprise here with how big camo is this season, but all things green are all the rage. Think earthy, darker hues like the denim I’m wearing above. You can incorporate this color into your wardrobe in so many ways, and it’s versatile since hunter green is now seen as a neutral!
5. Graphic everything- I did a post on my fav graphic sweatshirts recently but it doesn’t end there- the trend carries over to everything from tees to home decor. I was at Walmart yesterday and spotted the cutest fall pillows (on my Insta stories currently!) that are just $3.88 and look so much more expensive. Way to go, Wally World! Totally on trend there.

What are some trends you’re into at the moment? Would love to hear in the comments!

p.s. This post isn’t sponsored, but I got word this morning of the coolest thing/amazing deal & found it fitting since this look was shot at ROSC: River Oaks Shopping Center is participating in the American Cancer Society Holiday Shopping Card event this month, October 18-28. The Holiday Shopping Card ($75 value) benefits the American Cancer Society and allows purchasers to receive 20% OFF regular-priced products and complimentary eats at participating ROSC businesses. Cards can be purchased for $75 giving access to discounted shopping and dining experiences at over 500 retailers and restaurants in Houston. In River Oaks specifically, participating locations include Allen Edmonds, Cacao & Cardamom Chocolatier, Hemline, J.McLaughlin, Nina McLemore, Inc, Saint Cloud and Sur La Table. River Oaks shopping center is giving away one of the cards HERE, or you can purchase yours HERE. Love that 100% of the proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society, which is an organization very near and dear to my heart.
