dalgona "whipped" coffee
Chances are if you’ve been on social media at all in the past month, you’ve seen dalgona or “whipped” coffee. I’ll admit, I was a bit skeptical to try it for awhile. I’m pretty picky when it comes to coffee and especially don’t trust myself to make a tasty concoction at home. But I finally caved a few weeks ago and tried it and it was the best decision I’ve made in awhile (clearly living an exciting life). Whipped coffee is so easy to make and tastes like something yummy you’d get at Starbucks. It’s rich and creamy with a subtle coffee flavor (even if you don’t enjoy coffee, you may like this drink if you add enough milk). Be warned, it does have quite a bit of caffeine in it, so if that affects you you might want to drink it before noon. Will share how to make it below in case you want to try!
A little elf wanted to jump in the pictures and say “cheeeeese”.
To make dalgona coffee, you’ll need:
2 tbsp. instant coffee
2 tbsp. boiling water
2 tbsp. sugar
1 cup milk of choice
chocolate syrup (optional)
Directions:
Boil 2 tbsp. of water. Pour boiling water, 2 tbsp. instant coffee, and 2 tbsp. sugar in a bowl. Using either an electric mixer or whisking by hand, mix together 3-5 minutes until mixture turns light brown and thick.
Add ice cubes to a glass (add syrup if desired) and pour in milk of choice (regular, oat, almond, etc.). Pour coffee mixture on top. Stir together and enjoy!
Have you tried this delicious treat yet?
